چکیده
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a significant role in the survival and decline of various biological systems. In liver-related metabolic disorders such as steatohepatitis, ROS can act both cause consequence. Alcoholic steatohepatitis (ASH) non-alcoholic (NASH) are two distinct types steatohepatitis. Recently, there has been growing interest using medications that target formation reduce levels therapeutic approach for oxidative stress-related liver disorders. Mammalian systems have developed antioxidant defenses to protect against excessive generation. These modulate through series reactions, limiting their potential impact. However, condition worsens, exogenous antioxidants become necessary control levels. Nanotechnology emerged promising avenue, utilizing nanocomplex efficient nano-antioxidants. demonstrate enhanced delivery site, minimizing leakage improving targeting accuracy. Therefore, it is essential explore evolving field nanotechnology an effective means lower establish interventions

Oxidative Stress in Liver Diseases
Oxidative stress corresponds to an imbalance between the rate of oxidant production and that of their degradation. The main biological targets of free radicals are proteins, lipids and DNA. Protein oxidation leads to loss of function or premature degradation in proteasomes. Lipid peroxidation, occurring mostly in the plasma membrane or the stratum corneumthe most superficial layer of the epider...
متن کاملRoles of oxidative stress in stomach disorders
The stomach is a sensitive digestive organ that is susceptible and exposed to exogenous pathogens from the diet. In response to such pathogens, the stomach induces oxidative stress, which might be related to the development of gastric organic disorders such as gastritis, gastric ulcers, and gastric cancer, as well as functional disorders such as functional dyspepsia. In particular, the bacteriu...
متن کاملOxidative stress-related parameters in the liver of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients.
Oxidative stress is implicated in the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). In the present study, hepatic and plasma oxidative stress-related parameters were measured and correlated with clinical and histological findings in 31 NAFLD patients showing increased body mass index. Liver protein carbonyl content was enhanced by 403% in patients with steatosis (n=15) compared wit...
متن کاملOxidative Stress and Neurodegenerative Disorders
Living cells continually generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) through the respiratory chain during energetic metabolism. ROS at low or moderate concentration can play important physiological roles. However, an excessive amount of ROS under oxidative stress would be extremely deleterious. The central nervous system (CNS) is particularly vulnerable to oxidative stress due to its high oxygen con...
متن کاملOxidative Stress and Psychological Disorders
Oxidative stress is an imbalance between cellular production of reactive oxygen species and the counteracting antioxidant mechanisms. The brain with its high oxygen consumption and a lipid-rich environment is considered highly susceptible to oxidative stress or redox imbalances. Therefore, the fact that oxidative stress is implicated in several mental disorders including depression, anxiety dis...
